About

Hi!  My name is Caitlin.  I was a student at American University in the lovely Washington DC, studying Russian language and film communications.  Now I work in news.

I hail from New England, and Boston is my city.  Not New York.  There are Yankee fans there.  Eeesh.  And even though I've been here for four years, DC isn't quite my city either.  I come from a land of snow and forests and lobster, steeped in Revolutionary War history (literally) and perpetually rooting for the Red Sox, Patriots, and Bruins (sorry, I don't do basketball, so no Celtics).  I talk (and walk) like a New Englander - at nine miles a minute - and yes, I do have an accent.  It's not heavy, but yes, I've got one.  And I'm pretty proud of it too.

I lived in St. Petersburg, Russia, for four and a half months.  It was great.  I miss my host family.  I have since returned from the far corners of Europe (yes, St. Petersburg is on the European part of Russia and yes, Russia lies in both Europe and Asia).

I tend to read a lot, to the point where my friends joke that one day they'll find me in the local Barnes & Noble with a tent pitched in the Sci-Fi/Fantasy section.  If I get my hands on a good book, the world just melts away.

The world also melts away in the face of TV shows, movies, and music.  Especially music.  I like to lose myself in things.

So here is an account of the random adventures of my life, from the showstopping ones to the everyday happenstances.

  1. First of all, you have no business growing up so fast. You already tell this is from one of your parent's friends without scrolling down! Second of all, you are so fortunate to be experiencing all this and we are fortunate to have you share it with us. Willey just got from Tanzania on a photo shoot. Take a look at his website: willeyswildlifephotography.com I have taken up making jewelry and we have one Bernese Mt. Dog. Her name is Kali. Hope to see you when you return. Love, Marianne & Willey

  2. Sounds like a great trip. I want to see all the pics when you get home. Don't worry about all that ATM stuff, from a young age "you had the power". Can't wait to here more of your adventures. Stay safe. Love Willey

  3. Hi!! Willey - those photos are gorgeous. And I've still got the power, the card now works and I'm not broke (though that's a blatant lie, since I'm a college student). I'll try to put up as many pics as I can here, but I can definitely show you more when I get back Stateside. Also awww new puppy. It's great to hear from you both!!
